Linux is a new operating system, the purposes of this web
site are try to provide some useful information about Linux, and help to solve some
general problems for newcomers. I hope that this page will become a good start for newbie.

New
The following is a list of recent additions to my web. Whenever we publish a
paper, write a specification, submit a status report, or add anything else to my web, I'll
put a notice here. Every month we'll remove the oldest items. The most recent changes are
listed first, and each item is linked to the page with the updated content.
Date 12
Today, I tried to copy the Project files to my Linux server, but unfortunately, I
deleted the Windows partition by accident, then I lost almost 3GB data within that
partition. On other hand, in order to feel another window manager GNOME that I descripted
in page Desktops, so I installed a new window manager GNOME, it's good, I grabed several screenshots ( #1, #2, #3 ).

Just modified the pages slightly. Changed the charsets, added more screenshots to show what I was working on.

Everythings almost done, I decided to add several picutres to show my stuff and thank my friend who helped me to finish this
project.

Scaned an article VMware Virtual Platform and 3
images from Linux Journal megazine. This article talks about the virtual machine in Linux.
The original article was scan from Acer SCSI scanner, and use TextBridge to retrieve the
characters, so I didn't need to re-type the article.

Finished page About, it's the page that give something
info about this project and the problems that I met.

I wanted to add a MIDI into the homepage, but I found that a MIDI is about 35KB,
it's quite big for modem user, it'll make this page larger, so at last, I give up. Today,
finished page Desktops.

I don't use the theme which managed by Frontpage 98, and start the homepage
again. Just almost repeat the works that were done several days before, like make links,
type text..... etc.

Bad day!!! I tried to use Micromedia Dreamweaver to design the
homepage and add some special effects on the banner, for example , Swap Images and
scrolling text. It works on IE, but when I upload the main page 'index.htm' to
the server which hosted by Frontpage, it had errors, seems Frontpage doesn't recognize the
Javescript, I wanted to make a preview, so save that page which contained errors under
Frontpage 98, but because this page was managed by Frontpage's theme, then Frontpage
updated all the related pages by itself, Finally, I lost all the data which just updated
by that incorrect page. I had to start the pages from ZERO again.

Used Frontpage 98 do make the main page, added those menu buttons, and
Inputed some texts. The pages for About Linux, Desktops and Distributions were
created.
Date 3
Spent most of the time on drawing buttons and the title picture with PhotoShop,
and read some realted web sites.
Date 2
Designed the main menu for the project, searched on the Internet, found some
useful material and started to draw icons for the menu by PhotoShop 5.0.
Date 1
Chose Linux as the subject of this EDB Project. and designed a basic look for this
main page.
